Pic very much related. I'm planning on doing some traveling of some sort, and I obviously can't travel with this piece of crap. I need something has a really long battery life, and can run the latest Ubuntu with ease. Does not matter what OS is on it since I'll be using ubuntu. Somewhere around $450 would be my max budget. What would TC suggest?

From what I've heard of the latest Ubuntu, you won't find something that can run it for under $450, and have good battery life.

Obviously the Eee900 is going to fall apart eventually. It's old and has cheaply-built cases. ASUS makes reliable shit, but the casing on certain budget models is cheap to make the laptop cheap. The 1215N does not have this problem, and has a far superior design.
