It wood make no cents to have 1 Million in cash savings. Current bank interest rates are Buckless.

If only I were permitted to suggest people buy say some Globalstar when it was over the counter at .25cents going back only one year Closed today at $3.52 now that its on the NYSE

Real jump was at 60cents a few months ago when it hit NYSE but wassss just not permitted to say anything.

I do keep cash in bank for liquidity and need to cover Margins on BETS I place in Stock Market -

Whole subject sucks at momento cause its IRA rollover tyme n tricky issues with Banks and Fidelity n TDAmeritrade etc.

Honest I am not so much so good making money with money DIRECTLY - Investments well doing more better given I am under gun to recover from a past Condom fail event in my life

never feels like playing with stocks, so I just save up all cash in bank disregarding the low interest rate. tho I think I'd still have less saved up than your spare cash in bank

@407,272 (Cathy Constantine !TGirlYJKXM)
not bad

one can buy a house with $50k?

No. It's called a mortgage. You need a deposit and a job to get one.

Ok smarty pants. Tell me how it works.

I own my 2bed apartment in London which I brought for a little under 200k in June last year, in the meanwhile the market has sky rocketed. I have a 8k pension fund and about 4k in the bank. I have a fairly shitty credit history due to tax fines that are now paid so I doubt I could borrow anything more than a few grand. Current income is just short of £30k a year which is self employed income with little security plus no debts.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Net_worth

I think a 200k net worth is about right. Might even be slightly over.

net worth is not equal to savings, you huge fucking idiot. even funnier that you posted a wikipedia article about it yet you are still wrong about what the term net worth means.

im gonna keep posting this until you realize what it means

> is the total assets minus total outside liabilities of an individual or a company
> is the total assets minus total outside liabilities of an individual or a company
> is the total assets minus total outside liabilities of an individual or a company

you've earned 200k over your current time of being employed

that is not the same thing as "savings"; you are very, very, very, retarded.

> I own my 2bed apartment in London which I brought for a little under 200k

thats not how apartments work either, do you mean condominium? you rent apartments and lease to own condominiums, if you are going to lie, at least do the research because goddamn.

if we are going by net worth my net worth is somewhere to the tune of 300k+ (earning 45k a year, which is how much i currently make) my net worth is how much money I have earned working over a 5 year period in my current job market, does this mean I have 200k stashed away? no it does not, if someone makes 45k a year over a period of time their net worth will be over 200k, even you said this and im really fucking confused as to if you even read the words you type.

You are so stupid

Cash in bank? Seriously? Honest with no BS - Costs you nada to call Fidelity and discuss your cash with them. You can tell them you want to invest but be Ultra safe super low risk or any combination of that - They can describe say a 30 year model that will remove the jitters of you handing over money.

Also you are free to pull out what you need when you need as often as you need. The thing is about the current super low interest rates with your bank - You're loosing money do to inflation.

My situation more explained. I decided to start buying income property - houses condos in my hood. After the housing crash so in a few cases I got a house for at material cost or in one case even less - Took me much to long to learn the ropes of finding trusty worthy qualified people to do the fixing up b4 renting and after.

Got all that solved and came up with a world class way to get super renters Leases - Sounds good eh?

I was NOT prepared for funding my daughters Harvard Med education - Harvard demands full payment UPFRONT for all the years (5) Minimum she will be there - Had to buy her a new small compact car and ended up buying a house as well - So I ended up in a major cash crunch cause I over extended playing Monopoly for real without the necessary cash reserves for unexpected consequences.

That meant having to work a hole HOLE lot more hours then I wanted to work and agreeing to give a couple clients I truly HATE more of my TYME.

Now things are far more better but honestly it felt really dicey nor could I borrow on the Monopoly game cause that is how I kept funding buying more units.

The most positive my me over extending as I did was I did it such that now my credit score is as good as it can be - People know my real name around here and there are a few that can even look up that score lol and well those who dislike me and do that r in for a shock -

On the other side of that - having a great score at this point? Not much I can do with it other then watching it crash if I try and take advantage of it.

I own the appartment and the lease which is 110 years. That's how it works in the UK. That flat/appartment and lease is mine to do what I wish with it inc, sell it on at any time. It is worth over 200k and rising. So, it's an asset which adds to my net worth.

I think I already have. You implyed that a rented appartment isn't an asset in the US. In the UK you purchase the lease for X amount of years. In my case the lease is 110 years long which makes it an asset. An asset worth over 200k. Not rocket science, my friend.

Wait, I have a $3'000 scholarship, which isn't really savings but it works out the same cause if I had savings it'd go into tuition anyway. Yay! That means all non-residence things are $5,313.67 for first year plus a (quite expensive :/) residence.

This is how leases work in most countries. Flats/apartments are built in blocks then the leases sold off from 100 to 300 years, the developer owns the land so can charge ground rent per lease holder which goes towards the upkeep of the land and building. In my case it's about 700 pounds a year.

Maybe one day you'll actually learn something.
