What's more, a lot of that money is spent on places like care facilities which are typically generalized in function, they don't serve autists in particular. In reality, it would be the autistic in-patients who are usually the most neglected, since they can least effectively communicate their needs.
Money, then, doesn't translate to a reception of benefits. There could've been more elaboration about how this study/survey/whatever was conducted, and a breakdown on what's actually spend where. There are several things off the top of my head that I could think of removing or adding to revise that figure upwards or downwards. I sincerely believe the benefits bill won't comprise much of that, seeing as most autists of that severity are institutionalized.
